Microsoft will stop support on windows xp and office 2003

Microsoft announced that it will end support for its old operating system windows xp and microsoft office 2003. This means legitimate xp users will no longer receive updates from Microsoft including security updates, fixes and technical support if problem arises until April 8th 2014. You know what it means when it comes to your business using an operating system without security updates and patches, and online support

According to Microsoft this will be the potential business implications.

Security Risks

Without critical security updates, your PC may become vulnerable to harmful viruses, spyware and other malicious software which can steal or damage your business data
and information.

No One to Call

When problems arise, online and phone-based technical support will unfortunately no longer be available to you or your IT partner, leaving you on your own to deal with the problem.

Down Time

The risks of system failure and business disruption could increase because of the end of support, lack of supported software, and the increasing age of hardware running Windows XP.

Reduced Compatibility

Many software and hardware vendors will no longer support products that are running on Windows XP as they are unable to get the Windows XP and Office 2003 updates created to fix issues.

With this action of Microsoft, I wonder what will happen to legitimate xp users. Legitimate users deserved unlimited and lifetime updates and supports. Microsoft should atleast compensate them.
